Bruck and Me
Screenwriter Stephen Walsh interviewed Veronica Guerin producer
Jerry Bruckheimer during that film's shooting in Dublin. Nothing
prepared him for the strange (and from the point of view of
Irish filmmaking strangely appropriate) emanations that would
follow.
This is how it sounds: I was standing
on the platform at Limerick Junction station, having been
deposited there by the train from Limerick itself. They'd
just announced that the next train had already gone and the
one after that wouldn't be along for three and a half hours.
I looked to the left and right and saw nothing; no town or
village to wander around in. So I sat down on the platform
in front of a sign that declared "It's Time To Think
About The Train", fished in my pocket for my Swiss Army
knife and uncorked the nice Chateau LaGurgue I'd been thoughtful
enough to stow in my bag. I was no more than a couple of sips
into my first plastic cupful when who should I see- seemingly
also waiting for a train- but major international Hollywood
producer mister Jerry Bruckheimer.
