Third level students are invited to submit a short film in Irish for the Comórtas Gearrscannán i gcuimhne ar Riobard Mac Góráin 2010. The prize fund is €5,000 and the closing date is 1st July 2010.

The 9th Annual Screamfest Horror Film Festival & Screenplay Competition takes place 16–25 October 2009 in Hollywood. The call for entries deadline is approaching for new horror feature films, shorts and feature-length screenplays. The final film and screenplay submission deadline is 15th August.
