With a film & theatre career spanning nearly 40 years, Alan Gilsenan is one of Ireland’s most prolific & respected directors of drama & documentary. Much of his work was made with producer Martin Mahon through Yellow Asylum Films. His documentaries—ranging from investigation to essay and observation—blend intellectual rigour with creative innovation, exploring Irish and global culture, history, and society across a body of over 40 films.
