Bob Quinn (born Dublin, 1935) is an influential filmmaker, writer, and cultural documentarian. Founder of Cinegael, he has made around 100 films and documentaries exploring Irish language, landscape, and identity, and directed the landmark feature Poitín (1978). Quinn resigned from RTÉ in protest at increasing commercialisation. A member of Aosdána, he has been widely honoured, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Irish Film Institute.
