His prolific career spans stage and screen, with roles in The Commitments, The Snapper, The Van, Intermission, Con Air, Layer Cake, Bring Them Down and Get Him to the Greek. He has won two IFTA Awards, including for The Journey, and in 2025 received IFTA’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Irish film and TV.
