A Cork-man & horror filmmaker, McCarthy wrote, directed & produced 5 short films from 2009 - 2013. He made his feature debut with Caveat (2020), which he also wrote and produced, starring Ben Caplan, Johnny French and Leila Sykes, and released by Shudder. His follow-up, Oddity (2024), a paranormal horror co-produced by Shudder and starring Gwilym Lee, premiered at SXSW, where it won the Midnighter Audience Award. His next film, Hokum, starring Adam Scott, is set for cinematic release in 2026.
