On TV, he has appeared in The Tudors, Ripper Street, Black Sails, The Alienist & Station Eleven. In theatre, he has worked with the Abbey and Druid and starred in The Lieutenant of Inishmore, earning the Lucille Lortel Award, Theatre World Award, and a Tony nomination.
