Gemma Creagh talks to writer/director Stephen Burke about 'Maze', which tells the true story of the infamous 1983 prison breakout of 38 IRA prisoners from HMP.
Stephen is a director and novelist born and raised in Dublin. He studied film at the Dublin Institute of Technology before making short documentaries on aspects of The Troubles, including After 68 (1994) and 81 (1996). His feature film Maze (2017) dramatises the 1983 escape of 38 IRA prisoners from Maze Prison. Burke has since transitioned to novel writing.
