Based in Los Angeles, Joe has composed music for numerous feature films and television productions. His notable television credits include NCIS, Tour of Duty, Simon & Simon, The Equalizer, and Obsessed. His film work includes Toolbox Murders and Mortuary for legendary director Tobe Hooper; Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia, directed by Tim Matheson; Spiders, directed by Tibor Takács; and Who We Love, directed by Graham Cantwell.
Joe's career includes collaborations with directors such as Tobe Hooper, John Badham, Gregg Champion, Thomas Bezucha, and Tim Matheson. His recent score for Who We Love (2021) earned an Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) nomination for Best Original Music.
Joe has received two Emmy nominations: for Mortal Sins (1992), starring Christopher Reeve, and Miracle Run (2004), starring Aidan Quinn and Zac Efron. He won Best Song at the Rome International Film Festival for the title song from Finding Home (2003), with lyrics by Holly Conlan, and Best Score at the Underground Cinema Awards for No Justice(2009), directed by Dublin filmmaker Alan Walsh.
With a career spanning more than four decades, Joe Conlan continues to work across film and television, bringing a versatile musical approach to projects ranging from intimate character dramas to large-scale genre productions. He holds dual U.S. and Irish (EU) citizenship.
