Alex Garland2

Garland is an English novelist, screenwriter and film director who achieved recognition with his bestselling novel The Beach (1996), later adapted into a film. He wrote the screenplays for 28 Days Later (2002) & Sunshine (2007) & made his directorial debut with Ex Machina (2014), earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Screenplay. He wrote and directed Annihilation (2018), created the television series Devs (2020), directed Men (2022) and Civil War (2024) & co-directed Warfare (2025).
