Actor Sam Neill sadly died in 2026, aged 78. Born in Omagh, his family moved to New Zealand when he was 7. He began his career with Sleeping Dogs (1977), New Zealand’s 1st 35mm feature, & starred in films including My Brilliant Career, Dead Calm, The Hunt for Red October, The Piano & Event Horizon. His breakthrough was Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park (1993), followed by Jurassic Park III & World Dominion. His TV work included Reilly & Peaky Blinders, where he was Belfast Inspector Campbell.
