Originally from Michigan, Raimi is known for directing the horror franchise The Evil Dead. He co-founded Renaissance Pictures with Tapert. Raimi achieved major commercial success directing the Spider-Man trilogy for Sony. He later directed Drag Me to Hell & Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. He has also served as EP on TV projects such as Xena, Hercules and Spartacus. Raimi was involved in selecting Irish filmmaker Lee Cronin to write & direct Evil Dead Rise.
