Jim is a director, writer, producer & musician from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Working in indie cinema since the 80s, he gained international recognition with Stranger Than Paradise, which won the Caméra d'Or at the Cannesl. His films include Down by Law, Mystery Train, Dead Man, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, Broken Flowers—winner of the Cannes Grand Prix—Only Lovers Left Alive, Paterson, & The Dead Don't Die. His anthology feature Father Mother Sister Brother (2025) was partly filmed in Dublin.
